Self catering holiday cottage bronte Country
This cosy, well equipped cottage is situated in a small traditional village of 'Cross Roads with Lees'. The village has traditional village shops, a restaurant, a pub (said to be where Branwell Bronte used to drink), a scenic park with a children's enclosed playground, a skate park and a bowling green. The park has long distant Castle entrance views of Bronte country.

Cross Roads with Lees is less than half a mile from its sister village of Haworth, and there for makes an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas.

Visit the quaint village of Haworth, World Famous for the literary sisters - The Brontes. The main cobbled street leads you up to the Bronte Parsonage & museum, their Sunday School, & the local church where their father was the pastor.

Various events take place throughout the year at Haworth, such as the 1940's weekend, Scroggling the Holly, Torchlight Procession, Ghost walks, etc..

Less than five minutes from the cottage is the historic Keighley & Worth Valley Steam Railway. This is Bedroom the location of many television programmes & films such as the original 'Railway Children', Yanks, Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, The Royal, etc. Travel on the steam trains and ride through the scenic route of Bronte country. The line passes through the station of 'Damems' -Which is the smallest station in Great Britain.

Bronte country is prime walking country for enthusiasts. There are many guided and self-guided walks in the immediate area, such as Penistone Hill, Top Withins (said to be the inspiration of Wuthering Heights), and Bronte Way which takes you to Bronte Waterfalls.
There are plenty of walks ranging from 1 and a half miles to 11 miles.

The base location is only 20 minutes to the nearby historic market town of Skipton (11 miles) - Otherwise known as the 'Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales". In Skipton you can visit the bustling market, a Norman castle, canals, shops & restaurants.

There are many other places of interest, such as the Yorkshire Dales, Harrogate, York, Leeds, etc.... Plenty to see and do for everyone, including nearby activities, such as horse riding, ice-skating, golf, etc.
There is an information folder in the cottage which contains a collection of places to visit, walks, local activities, etc.
